The Chelsea players are deep in preparation for their second pre-season friendly of the summer from their tour of the United States.

Enzo Maresca will be hoping to get his first win under his belt as Chelsea manager when they take on Celtic tomorrow night.

The Blues drew 2-2 against Wrexham earlier this week, with near enough the whole squad getting an opportunity to impress their new boss.

Maresca highlighted the likes of Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana for praise after they made their first appearance in a number of months for the club.

Chelsea fans were instead more interested in the performance of Marc Guiu, who was making his debut after joining the club.

Marc Guiu impresses in training

The striker certainly impressed in his time on the pitch, and picked up the assist for Christopher Nkunku’s goal against Wrexham.

It looks as if the Spaniard has picked up where he left off in training since that game. Journalist Feroze Ali claimed that he was one of the players who impressed in particular.

He said: “Reece inverted a lot again and trained with midfielders. Mudryk, Noni and Guiu looking sharp.”

It is likely that Guiu plays a big part in the upcoming game against Celtic, with the striking situation currently looking a bit unclear ahead of next season.

Nicolas Jackson injury still bad

Armando Broja is currently on the tour with the Blues, however reports have refused to go away that he is on the market to be sold this summer.

It has been reported that Nicolas Jackson’s injury is still stopping him taking part in any action at the moment, and the opportunity is certainly there for someone to stake their claim for a more regular role there.

Guiu should feel confident based on his start so far with the Blues that he can be the one to do just that this summer.
