Chelsea are being tipped to complete yet another new signing this weekend during what’s turning out to be a busy summer transfer window.

There’s been a lot of change already this summer at Chelsea with the arrival of Enzo Maresca as the new head coach. On top of that, the Blues have been quick to bring in several new players to the squad.

The club signed Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Renato Veiga and Caleb Wiley already in this current window. Estevao Willian has also signed at Stamford Bridge, with his deal officially being completed in 2025.

Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, 22, is the latest individual to be linked with a potential transfer to West London.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed via X that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Jorgensen.

Filip Jorgensen to Chelsea should be done this weekend

Romano has now reported on Saturday morning that Chelsea could wrap up a deal to sign Villarreal’s Jorgensen this weekend.

He wrote via X: “Chelsea are expected to complete Filip Jorgensen deal with Villarreal this weekend, it’s imminent.

“Deal almost agreed as revealed yesterday with details to be completed shortly.”

This comes after Romano said via X yesterday that Chelsea improved their £17m proposal to sign Jorgensen.

Chelsea going for more inexperience

As much as Jorgensen suits Chelsea as a modern goalkeeper, the worry should be he’s another player without too much top-level exposure.

The Villarreal keeper is known for his quality with the ball at his feet, which is a key component for any individual in-between the sticks for a Maresca team.

However, the 22-year-old is still pretty new to first-team football despite last year impressing in La Liga. He’s actually only played 44 senior career games to date.
