A man has been hit with terror-related charges after allegedly throwing bottles around at a Sydney shopping centre last month.
A 21-year-old man was searched and arrested at the time, with police finding a knife, a bottle and other items in his possession.
He was taken to Sutherland Police Station and was charged.
That matter remains before the courts.
As part of further investigations, police executed a search warrant at home in Loftus, where they seized electronic devices, mobile phones and chemicals.
The Joint Counter Terrorism Team has laid additional charges against the 21-year-old following the search warrant.
The charges include knowingly collecting/making documents connected with terrorism and acting in preparation/planning for a terrorist act.
Police will allege the man has “mixed and unclear ideological beliefs”.
The man remains on remand and will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on September 25.
