Chelsea’s contract policy under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital has been to give out really long ones.

And it looks like it will be no different for one target if Chelsea end up signing him this summer.

Chelsea’s latest addition is Filip Jorgensen, who has joined the club on a seven-year deal. The 22-year-old arrives to compete against Robert Sanchez for a place in goal.

Renato Veiga is another player who has signed for Chelsea on an extremely long contract, with the midfielder also on a seven-year deal.

Veiga could be a smart purchase by Chelsea after some recent comments from Enzo Maresca, and the Portuguese youngster and Jorgensen could be joined by Maximilian Beier at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea interested in Maximilian Beier

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the centre-forward who Chelsea are being heavily linked with right now.

Osimhen is reluctant to join Chelsea on loan, but rumours about a move to west London this summer remain.

As well as the Nigerian, though, the Blues also appear to be keen on Hoffenheim and Germany striker Maximilian Beier.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are interested in Beier and are ready to hand him a contract until 2030.

He was in top form for Hoffenheim last season, scoring 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances.

Maximilian Beier’s potential

Beier showed a lot of promise in the previous campaign and looks to be a young forward who is on the right path.

Speaking to Hoffenheim’s official website about Beier a few years ago, former club director Alexander Rosen said: “Maxi is an extremely talented young player, in whom we have placed a lot of trust for the future.”

That talent was clear to see last term, but another young striker with potential should not be at the top of Chelsea’s list right now.

Albeit a few years younger and less proven than Beier, Maresca has Marc Guiu, who is not doing a bad job in Chelsea’s pre-season.

The 18-year-old scored in the Blues’ 3-0 win against Club America. Instead of signing another forward with potential, the new Chelsea manager could just go with him in the 2024/25 campaign.
