He has a visible “essential tremor,” but many other underlying causes exist. Once you reach some age, they become pretty standard.
While the other person on the internet says, he has recently learned that Waterson had a mild stroke almost two years ago, although he was not sure where. The anyononomuìous guys wonder why the show would cast him if the actor had such neurological issues in such a significant role.
Similarly, someone says, “I’m a big fan of Law and Order, & I was just telling my son the other day that his speech & demeanor sounded strange.” He’s always had an odd way of speaking, but it seems to be getting worse this season. “I speculated that he might have had a stroke.”

Sam Waterston was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a few years ago but the actor has been in a stable condition.
“Law & Order: SVU” made a triumphant return to NBC on Thursday, 12 years after the iconic cop drama that spawned a slew of spin-offs was abruptly canceled after 20 seasons in 2010.
The reappearance of Sam, the noble face of “Law & Order,” completes this homecoming. Waterston, 81, has never left the premises after resuming his District Attorney Jack McCoy job.
Waterston is joined in the cast by Anthony Anderson (as Det. Kevin Bernard) and a cast of newcomers that includes Camryn Manheim, Jeffrey Donovan, and Hugh Dancy.
Sam Waterson’s Fate On Law And Order Season 22
Good news for Law & Order fans, District Attorney Jack McCoy isn’t going anywhere.
Sam returned for season 21 on the NBC recital series this year. And it has been reported that the actor will return for season 22 of the crime drama. This contract renewal makes Waterson the longest-running cast member in the series.
This follows the announcement that Anthony Anderson, who played Detective Kevin Bernard, will not return for the upcoming season. Both Anthony and Waterston signed one-year contracts last year.
When Waterston’s return was first announced, Wolf said, “Since day one, Sam had perfect pitch when it comes to Jack Mccoy as a role which reflects and expands our ability to understand the law.”
