Introducing Mary Bonnet! Selling Sunset star officially takes on husband Romain’s name and ditches ‘Fitzgerald’ ahead of ‘starting a family together’

Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald has now officially taken on her husband Romain Bonnet’s surname, years after tying the knot.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, the real estate agent’s petition to change her name from Mary Catherine Fitzgerald to Mary Catherine Bonnet just went through.

Mary, 42, told the site that she didn’t come to the decision to change her name easily.

She said she had wanted to keep her own name for business purposes but because her surname is actually her ex-husband’s last name and not her maiden name, she is ready to change it.

Mary added that because she and Romain, 29, are madly in love and they plan to start a family soon, this is the perfect time for her to change her name.

Selling Sunset follows the lives and drama of a group of realtors including Mary as they work for a brokerage called the Oppenheim Group.

She said: 'I'm going to freeze my eggs just in case we want to start a family, but we are far too busy and focused on our careers to prioritize this at the moment'

The couple got married on the show in 2019 but they actually legally married 19 months before that.

However, Mary has insisted that the televised big day was still what she considers to be her true wedding day.

During an interview with Page Six earlier last April, Mary opened up about her style choices in her daily life and on Selling Sunset.

‘I actually decide what to wear based on where it is and what the clientele is,’ the star explained, referencing to choosing what outfits to wear on the Netflix show.

‘If it’s in the Hollywood Hills, you can be more funky or more casual, but if you’re in Bel Air or if the clients are older, then I try to be more conservative,’ she explained.

When talking to Us Weekly about how her personal fashion sense has evolved over the years, Mary expressed, ‘I think now, I’m trying to step it up a little bit.’

‘It’s fun to get dressed up. It’s fun to try new styles and kind of branch out. I’ve done stuff with my hair that’s different a couple of times. I kind of play with new looks. And that’s so much fun for me.’
