Channel 4’s Coach Trip ‘may not return for its 19th series after 20 years on air… as the broadcaster says new episodes are not in development’
Channel 4‘s hit reality programme Coach Trip might not return for its 19th series after 20 years on air.
The broadcaster has reportedly revealed that new episodes are not in development.
Hosted by tour guide Brendan Sheerin, the holiday programme saw teams of twos – either couples, friends or relatives – tour around different locations.
The pairs would be eliminated from the trip during a group vote which saw the least popular get kicked out.
With members of the public joining the 63-year-old tour guide for most of the episodes, celebrities also took part in the show for special editions.

No more? Channel 4’s hit reality programme Coach Trip might not return for its 19th series after 20 years on air as the broadcaster has reportedly revealed that new episodes are not in development
The Sun reported that no new episodes were recorded last summer, during the period it is typically filmed in.
A spokesperson told the publication: ‘A new series of Coach Trip is not in development at the moment, however it would be untrue to say that Coach Trip is not returning to E4.’
MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 for comment.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Coach Trip’s last series with members of the public was back in 2019.
Last year, the celebrity series returned with Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph alongside Love Island winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp front the star-studded line-up.
Back in 2019, James Argent was slammed by Celebrity Coach Trip fans after shouting at travel guide Brendan Sheerin in a shock row.
The former TOWIE star left viewers aghast as a huge row started when Brendan asked him what his favourite Sugababes song was – after Arg had arrived late onto the coach again.
The star, who is on the show with James ‘Diags’ Bennewith had already ignited the ire of fan favourite Brendan with his tardiness.

In honour of new guest Amella Berrabah, Brendan asked the celebs what their favourite song by the girlband was.
Arg said: ‘Overload’ but Brendan cut him off, and teased him by asking if it was ‘Diags’ choice because he does all the talking.’
A fuming Arg shouted back: ‘You asked me my favourite Sugababes song so I’m f*****g telling you what my favourite Sugababes song is. Maybe I have got a different one to Diags’ – leaving the rest of the coach startled.

He continued: ‘You like the sound of your own voice too much mate, slow yourself down.’
Brendan retorted: ‘Remember it’s my coach’ – with the pair continuing to feud throughout the day.
Speaking to camera, Arg elaborated on his rage, saying: ‘He got proper loud and rude in front of everyone, he proper mugged me off in front of my pals.’
Shocked Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins, 43, said: ‘I saw a different side to Arg. It almost was verging on nasty.’
