Today hosts stunned as reporter strips off live on air during heatwave

Nine News Adelaide presenter Tom Rehn shocked the hosts of the Today show on Thursday when he stripped off during a live weather cross.

Rehn, 39, removed his clothes to demonstrate how hot it was in the South Australian capital after the mercury surpassed 40 degrees.

While reporting to Brooke Boney in the Today studios, he remarked on the rising temperatures in Adelaide before peeling off his shirt.

‘We’re up towards 30 degrees already, heading for a top of 41 today,’ he said.

‘What else are you going to do to cool down?’ Boney asked.

Rehn then started to take off his clothes, saying there was no one else in the park where they were filming.

‘The premier has done it, footballers are doing it for their pre-season, so why not me? The result is a little bit different though,’ he said.

Boney compared the scene to 1997’s The Full Monty as Rehn showed off his bare chest on camera.

‘Just give us a bit of a dad bod wiggle for us, Tommy… he’s going to get arrested,’ added Today host Karl Stefanovic. 

Boney joked Rehn had made the city hotter than it was before the heatwave, while co-anchor Sarah Abo said viewers had been ‘given a treat’.

Rehn’s wife later called the studio to say her husband’s moment of glory had ‘made her day’.
