MAFS groom Cam Woods attacked by crocodile in Darwin while FaceTiming co-star: Shock footage shows moment animal lunges at distracted tradie

Married At First Sight star Cameron Woods narrowly escaped a crocodile attack near his home in Darwin over the weekend.

The outback tradie, 27, was on a FaceTime call with MAFS bride Alyssa Barmonde when he ‘almost got eaten’ by the large reptile lurking in a swamp.

In footage Barmonde posted on TikTok, Woods is seen walking along the water’s edge before unintentionally spooking the animal.

The crocodile lunges out of the water then slips away in a terrifying near-miss

Barmonde, who was speaking to Woods from the safety of her car in Sydney, looked visibly shocked by the incident.

‘POV: Cameron from MAFS FaceTimes you and almost gets eaten by a croc,’ she captioned the dramatic footage.

Despite the perilous-looking scene, Woods, who works a carpenter in remote areas of the Northern Territory, insisted he was not in any real danger.

‘It was only a freshie [freshwater crocodile]. It would of given me a little nibble but wouldn’t kill me, I hope,’ he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

While many of Barmonde’s followers found the video darkly humorous, others said the croc encounter was karma for how Woods treated his MAFS wife Lyndall Grace

‘Maybe the croc will get him next time,’ one TikTok user commented, to which Cam replied sarcastically: ‘It would be doing me a favour.’

‘So he is FaceTiming all the girls,’ another wrote, referencing Woods’ sexting scandal with another MAFS co-star, Tayla Winter, which played out during the finale.

‘At least he didn’t have his willy out,’ someone else said, again alluding to his lewd chats with Winter behind his on-screen wife’s back.

‘The alligator should have shown you more attention,’ one MAFS viewer commented, while another said, ‘Wish he would’ve.’

Barmonde scolded her followers for taking things too far, responding: ‘No need to say you wish someone was eaten by a crocodile. Be kind.’

Woods and Barmonde both left the MAFS experiment single and broken-hearted after beginning the experiment with seemingly perfect relationships.

Woods’ romance with Lyndall fell apart when he abruptly withdrew his affection halfway through filming. Barmonde was dumped by her husband Duncan James at the final vows.
