GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert could be squeezed out of Congress next term by a Democrat who’s significantly outraised her or a Republican who says her Colorado constituents are ‘done’ with her ‘immature’ antics.
Boebert, who represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district, was already forced into a rematch in 2022 with Democrat Adam Frisch, who lost to her by just 546 votes.
The latest fundraising numbers show that Frisch raised $1.7 million to Boebert’s nearly $764,000 in the first quarter of the year, with Democrats nationwide salivating over the idea of unseating one of the most prominent Republican House members.
Last week, the 36-year-old grandmother-to-be also attracted a Republican primary opponent: 65-year-old conservative radio personality Russ Andrews.
‘I’m tired of Lauren Boebert,’ Andrews said in an interview with the Craig Press. ‘I didn’t realize how young she is, but she’s immature, she’s brash, she’s loud, she’s emotional, she’s divisive and everybody I talk to over here in the Roaring Fork Valley, they’re fed up with her in a Donald Trump kind of way.’

Democrat Adam Frisch, who lost to Boebert in 2022 by only 546 votes, outraised her in the first fundraising quarter of 2023 by around 1 million dollars
Boebert was first elected in 2020 and, along with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, first made headlines for pushing the QAnon conspiracy theory in online posts.
Both lawmakers have since stepped back from it.
She also turned heads for her overt love of guns – even brandishing a weapon during a Congressional hearing.
Frisch, a wealthy business owner and former member of Aspen City Council, nearly picked her off in November by highlighting how Boebert’s national profile has taken her away from dealing with local issues.
In an interview in August he said that he heard from district voters ‘that they’re ready to stop Boebert’s circus.’
That carnival continued when Boebert was part of the group of ‘Never Kevin’ conservatives who forced the speaker’s race to take place over a series of days as they resisted promoting House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Now Andrews is hoping to benefit from Republican voters who want a conservative but not a clown-show.
‘What makes me think I can do it?’ he mused. ‘Everybody that I’ve talked to about it – not everybody, but I’d say over 95 percent of people – are just fed up. They are done with Lauren Boebert like they’re done with winter. I just think there might be some possibility there.’

Andrews, who has never held public office before, said he believed abortion was holding his party back, telling Craig Press it’s made the country ‘drift pretty far to the left.’
Since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court last summer, Democrats have seen a string of electoral victories – including retaining control of the U.S. Senate and narrowly losing the House, in a year that was expected to bring a ‘red wave.’
Boebert’s near-loss to Frisch was partially explained by Democrats’ post-Roe success story.
‘As a congressman – this would be my biggest thing that I would want to do – I would introduce legislation and try to get co-sponsors on both sides of the aisle that we fall somewhere between 12 and 22 weeks in what I call, “a woman’s right to choose,”‘ he said. ‘I just want to codify a woman’s right to choose, and get this issue behind us on the national stage.’
Boebert was a teenage mother and announced in March that her 17-year-old son will make her a grandmother at age 36.
Announcing that she would soon be a grandma at a Moms for America event, Boebert said there’s ‘something special about rural conservative communities’ – because fewer pregnant teens abort their fetuses compared to those living in cities, studies show.
‘Teen moms’ rates are higher in rural conservative areas, because they understand the preciousness of a life that it’s about to be born,’ the anti-abortion Boebert said.
