Is your relationship suffering from ‘mismatched libidos’? Dylan Alcott’s sexologist girlfriend Chantelle Otten reveals how couples can increase their sexual compatibility

Celebrity sexologist Chantelle Otten has revealed how couples who suffer from ‘mismatched libidos’ can reignite their sex life.

Chantelle, who is the girlfriend of wheelchair athlete Dylan Alcott, told Nine Honey on Sunday that couples should make sex a priority rather than a spontaneous activity.

‘I think that making time for intimacy and sex, it doesn’t sound very spontaneous or very romantic, but it does help state that sex or intimacy or connection is a priority,’

‘The more that you kind of do those things, the more you want them as well. I mean, who gets sick of having too many kisses and cuddles? Not many of us,’ she added.

Chantelle assured fans that it was ‘completely normal’ for couples to have differing sexual desires, while noting the importance of the person with a higher libido to be ’empathetic’ to their partner.

She also suggested that couples should shake up their ‘sexual menu’.

‘No one wants to have sex with someone who’s criticising them, judging them and pressuring them. You have to practice understanding and compassion,’ she said.

It comes after Chantelle told The Morning Show that the main issues she deals with during therapy with her clients is ‘orgasm difficulties’, ‘desire discrepancies’, and the affect of stress on sex.

She said these things are ‘constantly raised’ by couples she meets in consultations.

‘I guess after Covid we feel like we are kind of in a rat race and now the economy is changing, too. You can see the impact it is having,’ she explained.

‘The mental health crisis after Covid as well has [had] a very big impact on people’s sex lives,’ she added.

Chantelle went on to say that ‘pain, communication difficulties and [a lack of] sex education in general’ contribute to sexual issues for couples.
