That the Twilight fans formed two camps was strange for Taylor Lautner (30). The actor embodied the role of the werewolf Jacob in successful films. The series about the vampire Edward ( Robert Pattinson, 36) and the human girl Bella ( Kristen Stewart, 32) only celebrated its tenth anniversary in November 2022. During the peak, fans were mostly on either Team Edward or Team Jacob. It had been particularly strange for Taylor that competition had been stirred up between him and lead actor Robert!
On the podcast The Toast, Taylor reveals that the rivalry between the characters Jacob and Edward was only played out on screen and between the fans. “I was so young and I felt like it was weird, traveling around the world, being in different cities and having thousands of screaming fans either on one side or the other,” he recalls 30-year-old. This stoking of the competition has already influenced him and Robert, but he emphasizes that there was no real competition.
Filming “Twilight” also had a strong influence on Taylor in other ways. In his role as a muscle-bound werewolf, he’d had to train hard and diet even harder. But he remembers the strict calorie counting as an “absolute nightmare,” as he explained to Yahoo Life.
