Gruesome discovery made in backyard of property in quiet country town

  • Bones located at Strathalbyn, south of Adelaide

Bones have been discovered at a property in a country town south of Adelaide.

At about 2.30pm on Friday, police were called to a property on Paris Creek Road in Strathalbyn after the bones were found in a backyard.

Forensic investigators attended to examine the scene, before a scene guard was established on Saturday morning.

Detectives and forensic investigators are continuing to search the area, with assistance from STAR Group officers, volunteers from the SES and local patrols.

Police have urged anyone with information that might assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The historic town of Strathalbyn is about 55km southeast of the Adelaide CBD, with a population of around 6000 people.
