A teenage boy is fighting for life after being stabbed in the chest during a wild brawl.

Emergency services rushed to a park on Herring Road at Macquarie Park in Sydney’s north-west on Sunday, following reports of a violent fight about 5.30pm.

When officers arrived a 14-year-old boy was discovered inside nearby Macquarie University train station suffering stab wounds.

‘He was taken to (Westmead Children’s) hospital in a critical condition,’ a police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Following inquiries, four teenage boys were arrested at Cherrybrook train station a short time later.’

The boys were all taken to Ryde police station, in the city’s north, to assist with inquiries.

Police from the Ryde Area Command established a crime scene and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Train passengers were advised about 6pm that services were not stopping at Cherrybrook and Macquarie University stations due to an ‘ongoing police operation’.

But Cherrybrook station reopened about an hour later, just before 7pm.

‘Macquarie University is still closed. Passengers wishing to travel to or from that location are encouraged to catch a local bus service,’ Transport for NSW said.
