Moment father climbs up waterslide to rescue his terrified daughter after she got stuck at popular adventure park

This is the moment a father climbed up a waterslide to rescue his terrified daughter after she got stuck at a popular adventure park.

Andrew Reece, 38, headed to Gulliver’s World, in Warrington, on Saturday July 10 with his wife Emma, 41, for their six-year-old daughter Sienna’s birthday.

Disaster struck for the Merseyside family when Sienna decided to go on the waterslide but the boat got wedged midway down.

Seeing that his daughter was ‘frightened’, Andrew rushed to the rescue and climbed up the slide, after help called for by staff was taking ‘too long’ to arrive.

In a video filmed by Emma, Andrew is seen making his way up the waterslide to rescue his daughter.

Emma is heard laughing in the background as he tries to climb up the vertical part of the slide.

People cheer as Andrew manages to reach the part of slide Sienna is stuck on and starts to try and un-wedge the boat.

Proving difficult, the father eventually managed to get the boat free.

However it’s not the easiest slide down and Andrew has to use his feet to pull the boat. Emma is heard whooping once the pair make it to the bottom.

‘Sienna was upset and was crying on the boat and we could see she was frightened, the staff had called for help over the radio but it was taking too long,’ Emma told MailOnline.

‘The sun was beaming down on her and she was scared. Her dad suggested climbing up the water slide and I said he can’t because he will slide back down.’

Emma added: ‘But … Andrew being Andrew, he went up to save our daughter.

‘He was our hero and Sienna was so pleased her dad had gone up to rescue her.’

Emma said she found it ‘hilarious watching him trying to climb up the slide’ butthat she was so thankful he was there to help Sienna.
