Harry Kane might want to stay at Tottenham if the club have a successful summer transfer window.

That’s the belief of talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, who can see the striker staying put for another season and beyond if things go well under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

“Harry Kane needs 48 goals to break Alan Shearer’s record – say he gets 25 goals this season and he’s at the end of his contract with Spurs, he’s got a decision to make then,” the former Aston Villa captain told talkSPORT Breakfast.

“Does he go to Manchester United?

“The signing of James Maddison, that’s a big signing for Spurs – Harry Kane will be looking at this as progress, and he’ll be looking for more players to come in the defensive positions

“But he might be thinking to himself, ‘Let’s give it one more go with Spurs this season, let’s see what the new manager can bring, let’s see where we can finish this season.

“He’ll be on a free transfer next summer, he’s still going to be 30/31 – he’ll be looking at it then thinking, ‘What do I do?

“He can stay at Spurs, sign a new contract and break Shearer’s record the season afterwards.

“Or, I’m sure Manchester United will still be there for him to go on a free transfer.”
