Steven Gerrard got stuck straight into Saudi Arabian culture by attempting to speak Arabic in his Al Ettifaq unveiling.
But despite the Liverpool legend’s best efforts, fans were more focused on his Scouse accent dominating his message.

Gerrard has joined the growing list of stars moving to the Middle East this summer, joining the Saudi Pro League side as manager on Monday evening.
But whilst there has been fierce debate between talkSPORT’s presenters on what this move means for his managerial career, it’s the 43-year-old’s announcement video that stole social media’s attention.
Speaking to camera, Gerrard said what translates to: “I am Steven Gerrard. I am an Ettifaqi. See you soon.”
Although commended for his attempt to ingratiate himself to his new fanbase, fans couldn’t help but giggle, with one saying on Twitter: “Scouser Arabic accent is killing me.”

“First time I’ve ever heard Arabic in a Scouse accent!” another said.
Meanwhile, another joked: “Crying man. He sounds like his teacher’s just asked him in French what he does in a day.”
It was all said in jest and some even likened Gerrard, quite unfairly, to Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton’s French ‘masterclass’ during his time at Marseille despite the fact his was said in English with a French accent.
And Gerrard is getting straight down to business, according to the Daily Mail, with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said to be top of his transfer target list.
Out-of-favour Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also on his radar.
