Henderson will have an early point to prove to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp who has already invested heavily this summer in his ageing midfield.

The 33-year-old will have his work cut out next season following the recent additions of World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister and RB Leipzig star Dominic Szoboszlai.

Henderson has recently been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to join Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq but no formal offer has been made as yet.

Wherever Henderson plays his football next season, the England international certainly looks in peak condition ahead of pre-season.

The Liverpool star took to Instagram to share images of his ripped physique and off-season training regime.

Henderson can be seen powering through sprints as well as practising with the ball whilst enjoying some sunshine.

He also shared images of himself carrying out a range or core and bodyweight exercises as he limbers up for a huge season ahead.

And as many athletes do, Henderson shared a picture of an inspiration quote used to spur him on through his sessions.

The quote read: “Don’t dream on winning, train for it.”

The images will sure to delight Liverpool fans and boss Jurgen Klopp as the read look to put an underwhelming campaign behind them.

Liverpool’s fifth-placed league finish means that they will miss out on Champions League football next term.

But Klopp will hope his side’s blip can be quickly rectified with a top four push next season amid a tight battle with Arsenal. Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham.
