Speaking on the ‘Oldish’ podcast, Amanda – who welcomed her son Elvis, now five years old, with Nick in 2019, explained: “For example, after some time, I didn’t feel feminine anymore. Because I didn’t have a man kissing me, hugging me, or telling me I’m pretty. Like, someone coming around me in the kitchen and putting their arms around my waist.”

“I lost feeling sexy… and then you’re a mom on top of that.”
“Grief took that feeling from me, and I had to figure out how to get it back.”

Amanda – who was previously a Radio City Rockette and Broadway dancer – turned to dance to help her.

She said: “I go to a sexy dance heels class every Monday night. Literally, it just helped me find my sexiness again.”

“It made me feel like a woman again. And it made me feel okay with touching myself again and looking in the mirror and thinking, ‘Oh yeah, I’m hot. I’m cute. I got this.’ I had lost that.”
“[I had to learn how to] heal all these different parts. I think that’s common… you don’t realize that’s part of healing, that you’ll have to keep taking these leaps.”

“I had to tackle life in so many different ways to keep moving forward. It can’t just be one thing.”

One year after Nick died, Amanda revealed she had started dating again, but she admitted it was difficult.

Dating can be a whole new adventure. It’s like going on a journey without a map or compass. Kym shared her experience of starting to date again. She said: “It’s so crazy to be dating for the first time. It feels terrifying and really out of your comfort zone. It’s just hard, honestly.”

Even though it’s challenging, Kym found the process wonderful so far. “The people I’m meeting are wonderful,” she said. “It’s been a great process so far. But I’ll just say it’s very hard without getting into too many details.” Dating requires stepping into the unknown, which can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. It’s like learning to ride a bike as an adult – you might feel wobbly at first, but with practice and patience, you can find your balance and enjoy the ride.
