A Nigerian graduate faced challenges getting into a Nigerian university but is now thriving in the United States. Emmanuel took the WASSCE exam 18 times before finally gaining admission to the University of Benin.

With the support of his family, community, and financial assistance from various sources, he was able to pursue his dream of studying in the United States.

Emmanuel’s dedication and the support he received have led to his success in his studies. His story is an inspiration for those who face obstacles on their journey to success.

In a recent interview, Emmanuel shared his journey, including his admission to Cleveland State University’s graduate program in School Counseling.

He has achieved significant milestones, including receiving an honorary Doctorate Degree in International Affairs and holding leadership positions in student organizations.

He also won many other honors, such as the College’s “Distinguished Student Leader with a Big Heart” and the Active Minds Organization’s “Outstanding Mental Health Advocate of the Year.”

He asserts that he currently works for the US Federal Department of Education as a Peer Reviewer and Judge for the Mental Health Services Professional Demonstration (MHSP) and School-Based Mental Health Services (SBMH) award programs.

“My remarkable journey from overcoming significant educational and personal challenges to making significant global impacts in mental health advocacy and suicide prevention has earned me these prestigious honors,” he said.
