Shamier got into youth track and field when she was 8 years old. She had her first national competition experience at the 2004 USATF Youth Championships. This was when she competed in the 100-meter sprint for the University of Chicago Youth Track Club.

Little took his training more seriously at Robert Lindblom Math & Science Academy in Chicago, where he broke the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter, and 400-meter IHSA Class 2A records. She won the 400 hurdles event in the 2011 AAU Junior Olympics.
She won the Arcadia Invitational in the 400 meters in 2012 and did it again in 2013. She qualified for the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics by winning the junior national 400-meter hurdle competition.
However, she did not complete the contest after falling over the last hurdle when in medal contention. Minor attempted the 100-meter hurdles and 400 in the 2013 National Championships, placing last in both events.

Little decided to enrol at Texas A&M University after high school. As a freshman, she placed first at the NCAA Championships in the 400-meter hurdles and aided her team in their second-place finish in the 4 x 400-meter relay.
Later that summer, she won the 400-meter hurdles event at the 2014 World Junior Championships. She won the NCAA Championship again in 2015 and ran the top time in the world until that point in the season before defeating the significant ladies in the national final.
Minor was invited to compete in the 2015 Pan American Games after winning the national championship, where she won the gold medal. Little won the NCAA 400-meter hurdles championship in 2016 for the third time.
