The Unexpected Consequences of Kevin Bacon’s Disguise Experiment, Kevin Bacon is a famous actor who wanted to blend in without being recognized. He asked makeup artists to construct a new look to disguise his identity. However, he wasn’t very happy with the results.
In a Vanity Fair article titled ‘Kevin Bacon Spent a Day as a Regular Person’, he shared his experience. “My face is quite recognizable,” Kevin said. “Wearing a hat and glasses only works to a certain extent.”

Kevin consulted with a special effects makeup artist to create a prosthetic disguise. With fake teeth, a new nose, and glasses, the ‘MaXXXine’ star visited The Grove shopping mall in Los Angeles.
Initially, Kevin was thrilled that nobody recognized him. “People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice,” he said. “Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to buy a coffee or whatever. I was like, This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.”
Kevin admitted he always wanted to be famous after seeing his dad, an urban planner in Philadelphia, frequently recognized in public. “My mother was very artistic and encouraged acting,” he said. “Of course, I give all credit to my parents.”
My brother used to make music. Out of the six kids, our parents pushed us to be creative in many ways. They let us try dance, music, acting, painting, sculpting, and other fun stuff.
My dad was well-known in Philadelphia. It may seem like a small city to some, but to me, it felt huge. I saw people recognize him when we walked around town. Watching that really drove me to want success too.
To be honest, I wanted to be even more famous than my father. A therapist could probably analyze why for a while. But that desire definitely motivated me a lot.
