Authorities are once again urging the public to provide any information regarding the disappearance of a Melbourne man who was last seen two decades ago.

Selman Mala, who is also known as Sam, left his Westmeadows Lane address in Hoppers Crossing on June 28, 2000.

Police understand he was picked up by a vehicle, believed to be a 1978 – 1982 Ford Fairlane, by two unknown males and two unknown females.

Police said he packed some belongings and told his family he was heading to Adelaide, in a bid to avoid an upcoming court appearance.

Despite this, his family has not heard from him since that day and there have been no known possible sightings.

He was officially reported missing by 2004.

Sam is described as being 178cm tall with a thin build, short brown hair and green eyes.

Police said detectives have made “numerous appeals for information” in relation to the case since 2004, but he has never been found.
