A man has lost his car and is expected to be charged after a night-time jaunt for KFC in Melbourne last week.

The man allegedly drove the wrong way through the restaurant drive-through at about 9pm on Thursday, June 13.

His Honda sedan became stuck on the curb, leading to a police response.

The driver allegedly tested positive during a subsequent roadside breath test, but he refused to take part in an evidentiary breath test.

Checks revealed the man was also unlicensed, police said.

The 42-year-old Templestowe Lower man had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $913.70.

He is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.
