Police were called to Tapleys Hill Road in Glenelg North after a car crashed through a street sign near the corner of Jervois Street and ended up on its side about 3.15am.
“It was revealed that the driver had become distracted while driving by an ill-timed kiss from the passenger while she was changing the music,” South Australia Police said in a statement.
Both the woman, 25, and the passenger, 18, were able to climb out of the Mazda 3, which ended up on its side.
Neither the female driver nor the male passenger were injured.
The Plympton Park woman was reported for aggravated driving without due care.
“She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date,” police said.
“Her passenger, an 18-year-old Happy Valley man, was issued with an expiation notice for impeding the driver’s ability to control the vehicle.”
The Mazda was written off and towed from the scene.
