Dozens of firies called in as ‘suspicious’ fire erupts at Melbourne gym

Multiple Triple Zero calls were made just after 4am to the gym in Hallam in the city’s south-east.

Fire crews arrived to find the building well alight and called for a ladder platform.

There were 28 firefighters on the scene, including Country Fire Authority personnel.

The blaze was brought under control at 4.57am, Fire Rescue Victoria said.

It is being treated as suspicious.
