A murder probe has been launched after a woman in her 40s was found dead in her detached home in a leafy area of Buckinghamshire.
Officers were called to the quiet, historic market town of Beaconsfield, where properties regularly go for more than £500,000 at 6.20am.
The woman had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene while a 39-year-old man from the area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by police officers.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Nick Hind of the Major Crime Unit, said: ‘We are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this incident.
