Two police officers have been hospitalised after they were allegedly driven into following a pursuit in NSW’s north-east.

Tamworth Police attempted to stop a white Holden Commodore on Petra Avenue at 10.20am after reports that the car was allegedly used in an aggravated break-and-enter earlier this morning in Calala, 8km away from Tamworth.

The Commodore driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

Shortly after, the Holden allegedly crashed into a parked car on Warral Road.

The driver allegedly continued driving before stopping at the Warral and Mcgregor Street intersection.

As police approached the car on foot, the driver allegedly reversed into one officer, then drove forward and hit another.

The driver was eventually arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
