Sydney’s theatre world is in mourning after the tragic death of a much-loved production runner.

Ryan Cuskelly, 30, passed away on Saturday morning after a battle with a ‘severe and highly aggressive immune deficiency disorder and virus’.

He held dozens of roles across a decade-long career in theatre, including working as a prop assistant, stagehand, usher and wardrobe assistant, and in TV, where he worked on shows such as The Bachelorette and Big Brother.

His most recent job was as a production runner for Amazon MGM Studios, working on their upcoming crime thriller film, Play Dirty, which stars Mark Wahlberg and was shot around Sydney Harbour.

Mr Cuskelly’s colleagues on the film praised his ‘remarkable spirit, generosity, and that infectious smile no one will ever forget’.
