Police are searching for a driver involved in a hit and run that left a man seriously injured in Melbourne’s north-east.

A blue Toyota Camry is believed to have struck a pedestrian on Settlement Road in Thomastown about 11.15pm yesterday, police said.

The pedestrian, a 36-year-old Hampton Park man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“The driver did not stop at the scene and continued travelling west on Settlement Road,” police said.

Police believe the car is a light blue Toyota Camry sedan with some damage to the right head light.
