The blaze broke out on Deacon Crescent in Mango Hill about 2am yesterday, with the builder estimating the damage bill for one of the homes to be about $1 million.
No one was injured in the fire.
A 14-year-old Mango Hill boy was arrested this afternoon and has been charged with two counts of arson, and one count each of enter premises with intent, endangering particular property by fire.
He is due to appear in Redcliffe Children’s Court on May 17.
Investigators have also charged a 15-year-old Mango Hill boy with two counts of arson, one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and endangering particular property by fire.
A 13-year-old Sandstone Point boy was charged with one count of trespass â unlawfully enter or remain in dwelling or yard.
They will both be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
An owner of one of the homes told 9News she was “heartbroken” by the fire yesterday.
”All our years’ earnings we put into this home and we were so looking forward to moving into it,” Kulbinder Sandhu said.
“It was meant to be our retirement home actually – and we did have quite a few events planned, with my son’s 18th birthday, with my daughter’s marriage.”
