A truck storage depot has been rammed and a truck set on fire in an early morning attack in Melbourne‘s north.

Police said a stolen Isuzu truck rammed a gate at the entrance to the depot on Kinder Street, Campbellfield, just before 5am.

The truck was then set on fire.

Police said the truck is believed to have been stolen from Campbellfield overnight.

No other damage was caused to the depot or any items stolen within the property.

Firefighters arrived a short time later and swiftly brought the fire under control.

Crews remained on scene for about an hour before the incident was handed over to police.

It’s unknown who is behind the incident at this stage.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact police.
