Emergency services were called to a walking track near Wreck Beach in Gellibrand Lower about 10.45am.

It’s understood the bodies of a man and woman, who are yet to be formally identified, were discovered by a passerby.

Police said the “circumstances surrounding the deaths are yet to be determined”.

Offices have cordoned off the area.

Police said they are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident and said they are not treating either death as suspicious.

Gellibrand River is located about 233km south-west of Melbourne.
