In an alleged act of animal cruelty beyond belief, a woman is accused of trying to insert a bag of meth into her miniature Dachshund’s anus after police pulled her over.

Police stopped the 43-year old woman from Girrawheen in Perth’s north after believing they saw her drive rapidly out of a shopping centre carpark.

They allege she took a small package out of her bra when officers told her they were going to search her and her vehicle.

She then attempted to insert the package into her dog’s anus, police claim.

The package was recovered, with police claiming it contained about two grams of meth.

The incident was reported to the RSPCA WA and the woman’s dog was seized.

A vet examined the dog, which tested positive to amphetamine. There was also allegedly meth in its system but it was below reportable levels.

The woman has been charged with animal cruelty, with RSPCA WA alleging she acted cruelly towards her dog by attempting to place a package containing illicit drugs into her dog’s anus, knowing the dog’s anal area was already infected and sore.

‘RSPCA WA will also allege that the accused should have known that,’ a spokesperson said.

‘If she had succeeded in inserting the package into her dog’s anus, it was likely that the methylamphetamine would be absorbed into the dog’s body.’

The maximum penalty is a $50,000 fine and five years in prison.

The woman is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on August 2.
