The alleged scheme involved obtaining jewelry, money, a luxury car, and other valuables through false representations. Florida police raided Kingston’s Fort Lauderdale home and arrested his mother on May 23, the same day Kingston was apprehended in Fort Irwin, California.
According to arrest warrants, Kingston and Turner allegedly stole nearly $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from a Cadillac Escalade dealer, over $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from a customized bed manufacturer. Kingston is also charged with violating probation for a previous charge of trafficking stolen property.
In addition to the criminal charges, Kingston faces a separate lawsuit from a company alleging he failed to pay for a large TV and sound system. The company claims Kingston induced them to install the products with minimal down payment by making false promises, including creating promotional videos with Justin Bieber.
Kingston’s representatives have been contacted for comment, but prior to his arrest, the singer assured fans on Instagram that he and his mother were “good” and that his lawyers were handling the situation. A lawyer representing the pair has expressed confidence in a successful resolution in court.
