The View co-hosts awkwardly shocked actor James Brolin by displaying a naked photo of his son wearing only a cowboy hat and necklace.
The Sweet Tooth star, 82, appeared on the five person panel on Wednesday to chat about his career – as the conversation segued to his eldest son Josh Brolin, who is known for his work as Thanos in The Avengers and the 2007 film No Country for Old Men.
Josh raised eyebrows on Saturday after he posted a cheeky photo while covering his groin in preparation for the second season of his show Outer Range.
Commenting on the photo, his father said, ‘Well, he’s always nude. I mean, all night. He gets dressed in the daytime.’
Unknowing that the black and white photo was displayed on the big screen behind him, James turned around and yelped, ‘Oh my God!’

The View Co-hosts brought up Josh’s bold picture as James was commenting on the how the pandemic led to a division of people and politics.
Co-host Sara Haines quickly chimed in to change the direction of the conversation to Josh and how he followed in his father’s career.
‘Your son, Josh, famously followed in your footsteps and became an actor,’ Haines said. ‘He recently posted a photo that got a lot of people’s attention because he was nude.’
While James slyly commented on his son ‘always’ being nude, the show producers displayed the bare photo.
As James jumped at the sight of his naked son he quickly added, ‘You know, you raise them up and turn them loose, and good luck, if they even call you!’
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg let out a mischievous smirk and added ‘Leave it to us to show the picture.’

Josh, who was honored at the Sun Valley Film Festival this month, teased in the weekend photo of a ‘different direction for his show Outer Range.
‘Prepping for a scene for Outer Range Season 2. We are taking things in a different direction now,’ he teased in the caption of the post.
‘It’s a shifting world and we have to be sensitive to all. Power of example is everything, so examples we are,’ he added.
‘We aren’t supposed to post photos from the show but this isn’t really during the show, but rather lunch outside in the beautiful Santa Fe desert,’ he concluded.
Actor Luke Hemsworth commented on the post, writing, ‘Do you know the song “your balls r hangin through the old cane chair?” Hum a few bars and I’ll see if I can pick it up.’
Ryan Hurst quipped, ‘That necklace looks silly.’
Josh plays Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and family in the neo-western drama.
Season one served up eight episodes driven by the storyline of the Abbotts dealing with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca.
In the midst of handling that, the family also had to fight off the takeover attempt of their land from a nearby ranch.
The cast includes Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tom Pelphrey and Yellowstone’s Will Patton.
