An Australian mum has issued a desperate plea for help as her baby girl fights for life in intensive care in a Bali hospital.

Seven-week-old Lucky was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning after she went into respiratory distress which left her gasping for air.

She was placed on a ventilator to help her breathe after a severe bacterial infection took a serious toll on her lungs.

Doctors told Honey Ahimsa and her fiance Pan their baby girl may not make it and has a 50 per cent chance of survival at best.

However the hospital doesn’t have the right medical equipment or specialists to ensure little Lucky has the best chance of survival.

Flying Lucky from Bali to Singapore on an air ambulance would cost her parents a hefty $90,000 while the frantic dash to Perth will set them back $65,000.

Friends are now scrambling to help care for the couple’s son Hendrix while scraping the funds together so Lucky can be airlifted to Australia to receive the best care.

‘She’s now in ICU and the specialist team that she needs is actually in another hospital but that one it full,’ friend Bailey Scarlett told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We’re all just kind of scrambling around trying to get her out, basically, because we can’t get her to another hospital because they’re full.

‘We’ve been quoted $90,000 to medevac her out to Singapore and $65,000 back to Perth, which we’re basically trying to gather the funds to be able to do that now.

‘We’re looking at Perth, obviously because the medical care is obviously going to be better.’

Friends are desperately searching for a specialist doctor as the hospital where Lucky is currently fighting for life doesn’t have paediatric pulmonary specialist consultants.

Lucky’s condition also has to be stabilised before she can be airlifted to another hospital.

‘We’ve been trying to find outside consultants ourselves and send all her scans and X-rays, medical notes and try to get medical opinion outside because we can’t actually have the one that we need in Bali at the moment,’ Ms Scarlett said.

‘The other hospital is what we need is full and their insulator for a seven-week-old baby is broken. Or even if we could get a room, they don’t actually have the facilities to ventilate her.

‘We just have the equipment to keep her alive, but not to actually potentially get her better.

‘So we’re really stuck in a pretty hard place at the moment.’

Ms Ahimsa provided an update on her daughter’s condition early Thursday after a harrowing 24 hours as she urged everyone to keep Lucky in their prayers.

She described Lucky as the most beautiful, gentle little girl that the world needs to know her.

‘There’s is nothing worse than a doctor telling you your baby isn’t going to make it,’ she wrote.

‘My girl is hanging on though. I’m so proud of her.’

Ms Scarlett added: ‘She is fighting and we’re all here alongside her.’

The medical bill for Lucky’s first 24 hours in hospital was $8,000 alone.

Ms Ahimsa also thanked everyone who contributed to an online fundraiser which has already raised almost $17,000 within hours.

‘She has a severe bacterial infection that has taken a serious toll on her lungs, she is unable to breathe and is on a ventilator which is now breathing for her,’ the page states.

‘They are unsure whether or not antibiotics can work as she’s in such an unstable critical condition.

‘It is unsure how long she will need to stay in hospital, minimum two weeks with possibility of needing to stay longer.’
