A devastated dog owner says she could only watch in horror as her beloved pet was mauled to death by two dogs moments after opening her front door.

Rocky, a Chihuahua-Jack Russell mix, was only seconds into a walk on Monday night when he was brutally attacked by a pair of ‘pitbull-like’ animals in Camberwell.

His owner claims the animals were off the lead and attacked him ‘without reason’, leaving him with fatal wounds including a broken spine and punctured lungs.

Footage purporting to show the aftermath of the attack shows a man grabbing two dogs by the collar and pulling them away from the scene, before walking off.

Rocky’s owner has now put out an appeal on social media to try to find the dogs and their owner in a bid to get ‘justice’, and claims they have been seen acting aggressively in the past.

The incident is thought to have taken place in Northlands Street, Camberwell, at around 8.30pm on Monday, April 24.

In a post on Instagram, Rocky’s owner @nayaraaa.gmz_ said he had been killed just moments after stepping outside.

‘Yesterday night my dog was killed in my front door,’ she wrote.

‘I was about to give my dog a walk, unfortunately the minute I stepped out of my front door two dogs, pitbull-like, were outside without any type of lead.

‘My poor dog was attack[ed] without reason, he did not even get to sniff the dogs when one of them grabbed him from his back neck and killed him.

‘My dog’s name was Rocky, he was a mix of Chihuahua and Jack Russell, he was very known in Ruskin Park by many people. I am devastated since I had to see him fight for his life without him doing anything bad.

‘Me and my dad tried our best to separate the dogs but it wasn’t enough, he lasted around 10-15 [seconds] grabbing him. I ran to the local vet and sadly had to see my dog go through the worst.’

She added that Rocky valiantly fought for several hours but sadly died shortly after midnight after his spine was broken and lungs punctured in the attack.

A video taken by a passerby shows a man grabbing two brown dogs by the collar and dragging them away from a woman and man, who appear to be comforting Rocky on the floor.

The man can be heard swearing at the dogs as he takes them away, before letting them walk away off the lead and in the opposite direction of the apparent attack.

In her post, Rocky’s owner said she had reported the incident to the police and begged for help to get ‘justice’ for the dog.

‘I reported it to the police, they are trying to find this guy and his dogs since he just left after the accident, I didn’t get any details,’ she wrote.

‘Please we are trying to find this guy and his dogs to make justice.

‘This is a man around his 30s, he must be local as it is not the first time he passed through Northlands Street, we think he might live around Lilford Road or Kenbury Gardens.

‘It is not the first time these dogs attack[ed] someone since other neighbours have said so. Both the owner and dogs have showed aggressiveness multiple times.

‘Our neighbours recorded him, although you can’t see his face you can get an image of him and his dogs.’

MailOnline has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
