Sickening act of animal cruelty as an emaciated dog in a kennel is thrown off a cliff and left to die

Police are hunting those responsible for a disturbing act of animal cruelty after a dog in a kennel was thrown off a cliff and left to die.
The Australian Bulldog was heard yelping on Sunday morning about 8.30am by a Wollongong bushwalker at the bottom of a cliff face near Clive Bisell Drive at Mount Ousley.
The animal was badly injured and appeared to be ’emaciated and in very poor health’.

‘Police were alerted and officers from Wollongong Police District, Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, along with the SES, attended and conducted a rescue operation to retrieve the dog,’ NSW Police said.

‘It’s believed the kennel had been thrown off the cliff in the early hours of today,’ Police said.
‘An investigation into the incident is underway; the kennel has been seized and is undergoing forensic examination.’
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with a dashcam that drove through the area this morning and might have footage that can assist.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
