Donald Trump’s convention deployed a reality TV star to turn up the heat on prosecutors he accuses of running politically motivated investigations.

‘We need to hold rogue prosecutors to accountability,’ said Savannah Chrisley, whose parents got sentenced to 19 years in prison but had their sentences ultimately overturned.

Chrisley, who has appeared on ‘The Masked Singer’ and in Sharknado 4 tore into the ‘warrantless raids’ in Fulton County, Georgia, the same county where Trump and alleged coconspirators were indicted on charges related to his election overturn effort.

She called for exposing ‘the Biden family’s corruption. And guess what, I know just the man for that job.’

And she called for the release of Bannon, a former chief White House strategist who reported to prison for defying a subpoena. ‘Look at what they’ve done to Steve Bannon. I mean, the man should be home,’ she said, to cheers from the GOP crowd.

The American people will reject the party of self-destruction

‘The American people will reject the party of self-destruction,’ Speaker Mike Johnson warned in his RNC speech.

‘They want to tear down this foundation and remold us into some sort of borderless, lawless Marxist socialist utopia. We’re here to say, Not on our watch. We will not allow that.’

Stefanik says Trump will ‘bring back moral leadership’ by standing strong with Israel’

GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik touted her viral antisemitism hearing moments in remarks before the RNC.

‘Around the world, the feckless and failed Joe Biden has caused chaos – weakening our national security. From the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, to Hamas’ terrorist attack against our most precious ally Israel. And what has been the response from the radical Left on our college campuses – vile antisemitism chanting Death to Israel, Death to Jews, Death to America. This is Joe Biden’s Democrat Party. Who saw that congressional hearing with the college presidents of so-called “elite” universities? President Trump will bring back moral leadership to the White House, condemning antisemitism and standing strong with Israel and the Jewish people.’

Clips from the hearings with university presidents were seen widely across the nation. Stefanik had been rumored to be under consideration for Trump’s VP pick.

His aide tweeted out a clip of the encounter.

Senate candidate Sam Brown from Nevada took stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday.

America, I served you as a soldier, and I want to serve you again – as a U.S. senator.

Brown, 40, was deployed to Afghanistan when in 2008 he was wounded by an improvised explosive device that burned 30 percent of his body and caused him to lose his left index finger.

He recounted at the Convention on Tuesday that as flames engullfed his body, he heard, ‘Sir, I’ve got you,’ and now is delivering that same message to Nevada and America.

I’m gonna close with those same words I heard on the battlefield that gave me hope: America, I’ve got you.

Biden uses Trump shooting to call for a ban on assault weapons

President Joe Biden on Tuesday said the attempted assassination of Donald Trump was proof that assault weapons need to be outlawed in the United States.

‘It was used in the shooting of Donald Trump, just as assault weapons are used to kill so many others, including children. It’s time to outlaw them. I did it once and I will do it again,’ he said.

He also said Vice President Kamala Harris could be president and tore into his Republican rival for being a ‘liar.’

Biden said that it was time ‘lower the temperature’ and then, in his speech to the annual NAACP convention, slammed Trump’s record on black issues.

He also praised Harris, noting ‘she’s not only a great vice president, she could be president of the United States.’

Trump narrowly escaped death on Saturday after Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired multiple shots at the former president from just 130 yards away in a spectacular security failure that is being investigated.

Secret Service ‘received intel on Iranian plot to assassinate Trump’ and increased security around him weeks before he was shot at rally

Donald Trump’s Secret Service security was increased in the weeks ahead of the assassination attempt due to intelligence of an alleged plot by Iran to take out the former president.

It does not appear at the current time that shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks is connected to the Iranian plot.

Crooks, 20, shot Trump in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday before he was taken out by U.S. Secret Service.

The new report of enhanced security around the former president could raise even more questions after Republican outcry ensued on how Secret Service failed to detect the would-be assassin before he opened fire at the rally.

Kemp has in the past clashed with Trump as he resisted pressure to overturn the 2020 election in his state. He previously said he did not vote for the ex-president in the 2024 primary but he plans to support the GOP ticket this fall.

Strip those out and the results trend towards the favorable: ‘Good’ and ‘leader’ edge out ‘idiot’ or ‘asshole.’

Democrats quickly went on the attack when Trump unveiled his choice on Monday, describing him as a clone of the former president who will loyally follow orders, and the results suggest that either side has the chance to define a man who is still largely unknown outside Ohio or the world of the Make America Great Again movement.

Senator Bob Menendez guilty of bribery in massive corruption plot

New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez has been found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery in a widespread corruption plot.

He was accused of participating in a years-long foreign corruption scheme that earned him gold bars, cash and a new car.

The long-time lawmaker sat for over eight weeks in a New York federal courtroom as witnesses and prosecutors revealed the scintillating details of his alleged plan to reward multiple New Jersey businessmen with favors in exchange for payment, prosecutors alleged.

The jury deliberated over three days before reaching the verdict.

On Tuesday, they found Menendez guilty on all 16 counts against him, including acting as a foreign agent. He faces up to 222 years in prison for his crimes.

The powerful Teamsters union is consider not backing any candidate at all in this year’s presidential race, Reuters reported, in what would be a massive blow to Joe Biden.

Biden has heavily courted the 1.3 million-member union. It backed him over Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters would not endorse Trump but deep internal divisions mean the union may not back any candidate at all, instead staying neutral.

That would mark the first time since 1996 the union failed to endorse a presidential contender.

Biden has campaigned heavily as a supporter of unions and union labor. One of his main talking points is about growing up in Scranton, a working-class town in Pennsylvania.

In a first, Sean O’Brien, the Teamsters union chief, addressed the Republican National Convention Monday night in Milwaukee.

He received top billing and gave his speech while former President Donald Trump was in attendance.

The calls for 81-year-old President Joe Biden to step aside have quieted down since Saturday’s assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

But The New York Times reported Tuesday that those concerns are still very much there, quoting Rep. Adam Schiff, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in California, telling donors that the party would lose the Senate and its chance to retake the House if Biden remained at the top of the ticket.

‘I think if he is our nominee, I think we lose,’ Schiff said of Biden at an event Saturday in the Hamptons. ‘And we may very, very well lose the Senate and lose our chance to take back the House.’

The event was held Saturday before the news broke that Trump had been shot. The Republican nominee’s ear was grazed by a bullet.

As of now the Democratic National Committee plans to go forward with a plan to virtually nominate Biden weeks ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, due to an Ohio ballot deadline.

During the Hamptons fundraiser, Schiff expressed frustration with the Biden campaign for refusing to engage with outside pollsters and political experts.

One donor contacted by The Times said he left the event feeling dejected and believed his money was better spent on down-ballot races than trying to prop up Biden’s struggling campaign.

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Former first lady Melania Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance ‘s wife Usha have something in common, Donald Trump revealed to his new running mate’s wife.

The Vances were at an event with Trump last month when he asked Usha what she thought of being in political life having a senator – and then-prospetive vice presidential nominee – as a husband.

When she gave an indifferent response, the former president replied claiming wife Melania ‘hated it too,’ which sparked laughter from Usha, according to a New York Times report on Trump’s new running mate.

Melania Trump largely remained absent from the 2020 and 2024 campaign trail after having a more public role in her husband’s first bid for the White House in 2016.

After months of speculation and narrowing of the shortlist, Trump announced on Monday he selected Sen. Vance as his running mate. Just an hour later, delegates at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin voted Vance as their vice presidential nominee for November.

MSNBC host Joy Reid becomes latest TV star to imply that Trump is partly-responsible for assassination attempt

MSNBC host Joy Reid has become the latest TV host to imply that Donald Trump is partly to blame for the assassination attempt against him.

Reid was on air with fellow MSNBC star Rachel Maddow covering the Republican National Convention when she suggested the former president was suffering the ‘consequences’ of ‘promoting’ violence.

‘The idea of political violence that we’ve been nursing really… is so dangerous,’ Reid said. ‘It’s so dangerous that you cannot avoid the consequences of it, even if you’re one of the people promoting it.’

Reid stressed that she did not want to see Trump ‘rewrite himself as a victim’ – and used reports of voter intimidation in Arizona as an example of the political violence she says Republicans have been nurturing.

‘I think about the people who tried to vote in Arizona when men with long guns were standing outside of the polling places to send them a message,’ she explained.

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance has been chosen as former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick and now a crowded pack of Republicans are gunning to replace him in the Senate.

The perfect candidate would need to strike a delicate balance that wins the favors of both the even-keeled Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Donald Trump’s MAGA base.

The moment Trump posted on Truth Social that he’d picked Vance, dozens of ambitious Ohio politicians began privately expressing interest in the seat.

Some sources believe DeWine will tap Matt Dolan – but he’s already ran for the Senate seat from Ohio unsuccessfully twice.

Don Jr. was joined by partner Kimberly Guilfoyle, brother Eric Trump and half sister Tiffany Trump in welcoming their father and the 2024 Republican nominee to the convention site.

Absent from the guest box was former First Lady Melania Trump, who is expected to appear at the GOP Convention later in the week.

Donald Trump was greeted with chants of ‘fight, fight, fight,’ as he strode into the Republican convention on Saturday barely two days after surviving an assassination attempt.

The former president wore a bandage on his right ear where the bullet fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks ripped through his skin.

It could have been his wake, but after officially securing his nomination and anointing Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate, Trump arrived for a celebration.

He walked to the ‘family suite’ of oversized armchairs, surrounded by the royal family of MAGA: Vance, his sons Eric and Don Jr. (who had tears in his eyes), daughter Tiffany, former Fox news anchor Tucker Carlson and other senior Republicans.

And his supporters echoed the defiant words he used on Saturday when he picked himself up from the ground, his face bloodied. ‘Fight, fight, fight,’ echoed through the arena.

Joe Scarborough ‘very disappointed’ with Morning Joe being pulled off air after Trump assassination attempt: Host slams network executives

Furious MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said he was ‘very disappointed’ that his flagship morning show Morning Joe was pulled off air after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, and threatened to walk out if it happened again.

The decision to yank the show on Monday sparked huge backlash and suggestions it was an admission by NBC that they didn’t trust the anchors to cover the horrific shooting.

Scarborough and co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski returned to the air on Tuesday morning, and vented their frustration at the network executives they say blindsided them.

It came hours after Trump was given a rockstar welcome as he walked into the Republican National Convention with a bandage on his right ear, where the bullet fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks ripped through the skin.

‘Before we start this hour. Willie (Geist, co-host), I just wanted to briefly talk to our friends and viewers that watch us every day and talk about what happened yesterday,’ Scarbrough said.

‘We were told, in no uncertain terms on a Sunday evening that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC news channels yesterday, and today’s show would be Lester Holt.

‘Other people that, well, you worked with on Sunday and that was going to be one news feed across all NBC news channels that we were going to stay as a network in breaking news mode throughout, all day yesterday.

‘That did not happen,’ Scarborough added, telling viewers how MSNBC returned to its regular programming which included the first day of the Republican National Convention.

‘We don’t know why that was. That didn’t happen.’

‘Our team was not given a good answer as to why that didn’t happen, but it didn’t happen. We were also told it was going to happen throughout the day,

‘And I guess after there was such a strong blowback about, yesterday morning, I guess they changed their plans.

‘And so those plans changed as well. So it didn’t.

‘And, you know, we’ve talked about it, off the air.

‘We’ll talk about it on the air because we talk about everything on the air. We were very surprised. We were very disappointed. And if we had known that there wasn’t going to be the one news feed, from NBC news across all NBC news channels. Willie, we obviously would have been in yesterday morning.’

Scarborough then said the next time it happens they will be in the chairs covering breaking news, or else the network can get ‘somebody else’.
