A Florida man was arrested after he beat his roommate’s pet raccoon with a hammer and threatened to kill a neighbor while holding a sewing needle to his neck.
Tevin Keason Williams, 31, was arrested on December 14 in Lake County after he hopped off his scooter and allegedly started punching his roommate’s vehicle when she arrived home around 5pm.
Williams then yelled ‘I’m going to kill you’ at his rommmate, and threw a hammer at her before she was able to escape, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law & Crime.
The woman, who has not been identified, was able to run to a neighbor’s home for help. Once there, the neighbor said that Williams had earlier threatened to kill him and had confessed that he’d beaten the raccoon. It’s unclear if the animal survived.

Williams’ roommate claimed she had arrived to her home in Lake County when she was greeted by the suspect beating on her car
Police arrived at the scene and detained Williams. One officer had walked around the home and found the hammer nearby his roommate’s car.
The raccoon was then found still breathing on the grass at the rear of the house, near its outside kennel.
‘A few feet from the raccoon, I observed a blue mat with what appeared to be a blood stain from the animal,’ the arrest affidavit read.
After interviewing a male neighbor, police were informed that Williams approached him before his roommate got him and threatened to kill him with a needle.
The neighbor, who had been sitting on his porch, then got up to go inside.
Williams followed him and then confessed he had ‘killed the raccoon by hitting it with a hammer and shooting the animal with a BB gun.’
The neighbor was left uninjured, and a witness confirmed he saw Williams threaten the man.
The roommate then escaped and ran to a nearby neighbor who said Williams threatened him with a needle before confessing that he’d beaten the raccoon. Pictured – Stock image

Williams was detained in the Lake County Jail for three days until he posted a bond for $6,000.
A restraining order was issued between Williams and the victims that says he has to stay 500 feet away from them and not contact them.
