Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell has called upon the FBI to investigate his brother’s murder after claiming that the Chicago Police Department has failed his family.

Caldwell’s 18-year-old sibling Christian was randomly shot alongside two others on the street in the south side of Chicago last June

The analyst blasted the Chicago Police’s handling of the investigation following the arrest of a suspect, saying they ‘failed my family’ and he would therefore want the FBI to take over Christian’s case.

‘I’ve received, just this year in March, a call from the Chicago Police Department telling me that there was an arrest, an unrelated case of an individual who they believe with a high likelihood to be involved in the murder of my baby brother, Christian, to be one of the shooters, to be exact,’ the analyst told News World on Friday.

‘That same police department also told me that the FBI is investigating this individual, and he’s in federal custody, something that I can applaud and appreciate’ he said.

‘However,’ Caldwell explained, ‘the Chicago Police Department has failed my family since then.’

‘They absolutely failed us. The detective on the case is not responding to my calls, my text messages and today, I want to use this opportunity and this platform to call for the FBI to fully take over the investigation of my brother’s murder.’

Caldwell said it has been difficult for his family and he is ‘greatly disappointed’ the Chicago Police Department ‘continues to fail thousands of families.’

Speaking on Fox News Caldwell revealed he has been in discussion with a congressman to unite lawmakers in asking the FBI to get involved in the investigation and ‘be a voice for victims all across the country.’

‘I’ve reached out to the FBI personally multiple times, have not heard anything back from them.

‘So, I want to request for the FBI field office in Chicago, whoever is there, call me. You have my number in your system.

‘If you’re in the FBI headquarters in Washington, D,C,. call me. You have my number in your system’ he pleaded.

Christian was shot in a seemingly random attack last June on the 11400 block of S. Vincennes Ave, in the south side of the city.

A 25-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were also shot.

All three were taken to Christ Hospital, where Christian was pronounced dead and the other two victims survived.

The gunman then ‘entered a black sedan and fled the scene,’ police said at the time.

Caldwell is one of nine, raised by their grandmother due to their mother being addicted to crack cocaine.

He said they were ‘really, really poor’ as children.

Christian, the youngest of the nine, loved sports and travel, Caldwell said of his brother last June.

‘I was like his dad because he never knew his father,’ he explained.

‘So my three youngest little brothers, I considered — they were my kids. Those are my sons, so I took care of them. I financially supported them and still do my family.’

He said they were all aware of the violence in their city: some of his siblings have been witnesses to violent crimes, including one who was shot at in 2017, and ‘his best friend died in his arms.’

Speaking to Fox at the time he said he wants his brother’s killer to search his conscience.

‘Then one day, whenever they’re out of jail — if it’s not for life — maybe they can turn their lives around and give hope to other young men if there is any hope of rehabilitating them,’ Caldwell said.

‘I would never want to see any street justice or violence against the people who even murdered my little brother.

‘But I do want them brought to justice.

‘And, as a Christian who believes in forgiveness, who believes that there is a second path for people who could do something like this, all I want from my little brother, Christian, is justice. That’s it.’
