Georgia Lyall and former Rebels bikie nominee Luke Noormets found dead in suspect murder-suicide in South Guildford, Perth

  • Police believe the deaths are linked
  • They were found at different properties

A mother’s body has been discovered inside her home an hour before her former bikie ex-boyfriend was found dead nearby, in what’s suspected to be a murder-suicide.

Georgia Lyall, 32, was shot in the head at her home in South Guildford, Perth at about 10.40am on Thursday.

At 11:30am, an officer found the body of Rebels bikie nominee Luke Noormets, 33, inside a burnt-out unit at Innaloo.

Detectives believe Noormets ended his own life moments after making a call to triple zero.

‘We’re just trying to piece it all together,’ WA Police detective inspector Dave Gorton said.

‘At this stage, we do not have any concerns for the wider community.

‘Every murder is tragic, it’s unfortunate that these things do occur.’

The couple are believed to have been separated in the months leading up to the tragedy. The pair have a child together.

Noormets was known to police and jailed for seven years in 2019 for a horrific crime a judge described as ‘cold-blooded torture’.

He was found to have lured the victim to an address in Ashfield on June 12, 2017, before clocking him across the head and stuffing him into his car.

Noormets then drove him to a warehouse in Bayswater where he was tortured for 13 hours.

He was convicted of bashing a drug dealer, waterboarding him and then setting the man on fire.

At the time of his arrest Noormets applied for bail telling the court he was no longer involved with the Rebels and needed to be at home to look after his partner who was expecting a child.

The application was denied.

After four years in custody, Noormets fronted court in May 2021, where his lawyers argued new ‘compelling and powerful evidence’ should lead to his conviction being overturned.

It was argued that the evidence meant Noormets should be released on bail immediately as he had served his time for kidnap and assault charges.

The application and subsequent appeal failed.

A social media post in December 2021, however, showed Noormets was out of jail and back with his child.

An investigation into the two deaths is ongoing.
