‘They treated me like family here’: Geraldo Rivera officially bids farewell to Fox News after 23 years at the network – with Jesse Watters saying ‘it was a privilege jousting with you’ despite their dust-ups that saw him booted from the show

Longtime host and political commentator Geraldo Rivera said goodbye to Fox News after 23 years of working with the network.
The 79-year-old was fired from The Five – Fox’s daily roundtable political commentary show – and subsequently quit the network after more than two decades.
Speaking on Fox and Friends this morning he said: ‘I feel so verklempt already that display so impressive.
‘I am leaving Fox, my dear friends, I was fired from ‘The Five,’ I might as well resign totally and today is my last day.
‘I want to leave not thinking about those things, but how wonderful everyone has been over last 23 years. We’ve shared so many experiences.

‘I was treated as a family member here and I hope it was reciprocated.’
New primetime host Jesse Watters paid tribute to his colleague, saying: ‘It was a privilege jousting with you’ – despite a number of on-air disagreements between them.
He had been one of the rotating ‘liberal’ co-hosts on the panel show since January 2022, sharing his role with commentator Jessica Tarlov and former U.S. Rep. Harold Ford.
The three would take turns sparring with their more conservative colleagues, including Judge Jeanine Pirro, Watters, Dana Perino and Greg Gutfeld.
