  • A Mazda BT50 ute crashed into two homes on Saturday morning
  • The vehicle launched over a garden bed before cracking a wall open
  • A woman was seen scurrying away from the car in the aftermath

Shocking footage has captured the moment a dual-cab ute crashed into two houses after losing control and running off a busy ‘problematic’ stretch of road.

The grey Mazda BT50 was caught on CCTV barreling into the front yards of the properties on Gorge Road in Paradise, in Adelaide‘s north east, at 10am on Saturday.

The car left the road and jumped over a well-manicured garden bed before smashing into a front room cracking a wall open and sending roof tiles flying in a shower of dust, rocks and debris.

A woman dressed in black with a white motif on her top emerged from the vehicle before jumping over fallen debris and running off.

She was seen skipping back to the car and appeared to collect something from the cab before she spoke to shocked onlookers.

South Australia Police said the female driver had never held a licence.

Pavan, 33, a field engineer who lives at the home which the ute careered into told The Advertiser he heard a ‘massive noise’.

His wife Teja, 31, said it could have turned out a lot worse for her daughters Akshaya, 9 and Amulya, 5.

‘They were going into the front room and they were about to come, then bang,’ she said.

Pavan said he will sort things out with his insurance company and find another place to stay taking the shocking impact to his home ‘one step a time’.

The ute which had its front end in a crumpled mess was towed from the scene as SES crews secured the damage on Saturday.

SA Police said the motorist ‘was lucky to escape serious injury’ after her ute smashed into the two homes.

‘The driver, a 27-year-old Gilles Plains woman, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries,’ police said.

‘Fortunately, no one inside the properties sustained injury.’

Paul, who is staying in the other property affected by the accident said ‘the road needs to be safer’.

Neighbour Vince Colasante who was at the shops at the time of the accident that was ‘waiting to happen’ said this part of the street is ‘a problematic corner’.

‘It has had several incidents in the past few years,’ he said. ‘Something needs to be done. They need to put barriers in,’ he said.
