Megyn Kelly has shared her despair over Tuesday’s expected arrest of former President Donald Trump

In the latest episode of her podcast, Kelly was vocal as she voiced her concerns on Trump’s arraignment and the possible ‘impact’ on the country.

Kelly said that if Trump had committed a crime he deserved to face the consequences but she believes there to be a double standard at work when Trump’s actions are compared to those of other politicians including Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden‘s son, Hunter.

‘I think it’s horrible … I think it helps Trump politically … but it’s horrible for the country. And it’s gonna be horrible for him to go through. And it’s going to be horrible for us to go through,’ Kelly said during Monday’s podcast.

Kelly told of her frustration with the ‘lack of consequences’ for the perceived behavior of Clinton and Hunter Biden – although she did not detail exactly what type of behavior she meant.

Kelly also suggested how Clinton has ‘gotten away with so much’ and had been ‘using lawyers to do her dirty work’ for years.

She also questioned why Hunter Biden had not been arrested despite numerous allegations of wrongdoing and why it has taken so long to investigate his alleged criminal activities.

Kelly said that she believes such double standards to be frustrating but will not continue to defend Trump if he has committed any crimes.

She went on to emphasize the importance of treating subpoenas with respect and acknowledged that Trump’s alleged behavior in relation to classified documents was unacceptable.

‘I’m not defending. If he got a subpoena and he had documents, that’s not OK. As a lawyer, you don’t have to persuade me. You’re supposed to treat subpoenas very respectfully … It’s just so aggravating because she [Hillary Clinton] has gotten away with so much,’ Kelly railed.

Opposition lawmakers are trying to construct a case of Hunter Biden's alleged corrupt dealings to hurt his father while he considers making a second run for office

Kelly clarified if Trump committed a crime, he should be punished but believes there is hypocrisy compared to alleged behaviors of Clinton and Hunter

‘We just went through this whole thing where she used her lawyer to go into the FBI and try to sic them on Donald Trump and say that he was using some Russian bank to hide his nefarious dealings.

‘She’s been using lawyers to do her dirty work forever, and we just generally haven’t had a practice of criminalizing the behavior of somebody in her position. Yes, we’ve sniffed around the lawyers from time to time, but this is everything with him is different,’ Kelly railed.

Trump made his way to New York on Monday to prepare for his arraignment on Tuesday in connection with hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels in which he is alleged to have paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about their alleged affair.

Kelly said the indictment is ‘horrible for the country’ and that the experience will be both terrible for Trump and for the nation as a whole.

However, she also acknowledged that the indictment may actually help Trump politically when it comes to making a third run for the White House in 2024.

The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been investigating the alleged hush money scandal for years, which includes payments of $130,000 to Daniels and $150,000 to former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

However, federal prosecutors did not charge Trump in 2019, despite Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, implicating him as part of a plea deal.

The Federal Election Commission also threw out their investigation into the matter in 2021 but this current indictment has begun following Bragg’s office reviving the case.

Meanwhile, Trump has responded to the indictment by criticizing Bragg for his ‘obsession’ with trying to ‘get Trump,’ while also warning that charging a former president of the United States will ‘backfire’ on President Biden.

Trump is to be booked, fingerprinted and will have a mugshot taken at a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday before appearing before a judge as the first ever American president to face criminal charges.

In predicting his indictment, Trump called for protests and warned it could lead to ‘potential death and destruction’ for the country.
