A convicted felon in New York is just two weeks from he reporting to federal prison, and he’s using the time to find a love connection on Tinder.
But don’t worry, he is upfront and honest with his prospects that time is ticking to swipe right.
Dimitrios Lymberatos, 37, wants to ‘meet and talk to people,’ according to his Tinder profile bio. But he clearly states that he will be going to federal prison on July 24.
‘I want to be honest – it’s part of my recovery, part of who I am now,’ Lymberatos told DailyMail.com. ‘We always put our best pictures, our best selves on dating apps and social media. But for me, after all this, I wanted to be honest with who I am.’
Lymberatos, a former pharmacist who lives in Flushing Queens, was convicted this year of healthcare fraud and money laundering. He was sentenced to three years in prison but his lawyers told him that with good behavior, he could be out in a year.

Following his sentencing, Lymberatos created a Tinder profile to meet people.
‘It’s difficult for sure, but I’m not going to let it stop me from finding happiness,’ he said. ‘It’s part of my story.’

‘I’m here to meet and talk to people. I am going to federal prison July 24 for 10 months. I’m being honest and not hiding anything. If you like to know me message me,’ his dating profile reads.
Lymberatos told DailyMail.com he’s gotten a slew of messages – mostly positive and many of which were from people curious about his situation.
‘I think people’s fantasies are driven by their ideologies of what they think is attractive. So someone in my situation, you don’t really see.’

In 2020, Lymberatos came under scrutiny after the DEA found discrepancies in his application.
The New York Daily News reported that Lymberatos responded to the DEA probe by mailing a greeting card filled with cocaine to an investigator’s home.
He later pleaded guilty to five charges, including conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and obstruction of justice.
He has since been sentenced to three years behind bars at the Penitentiary in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
In Lymberatos’ recent search for love, there have been some matches who closed the doors before getting to know him, he said, which was expected. The dates he has gone on have also presented their own challenges.
Lymberatos wears an ankle monitor and has a 9:30 p.m. court-appointed curfew, so dates have to be scheduled during the day or in the early evening. The other option is for suitors to be comfortable enought with coming over to his Flushing, Queens, home. But he said he has no interest in flings or one night stands. But would be open for a pen pal to write to while he’s incarcerated.
The first-generation Greek describes himself as sober and looking for a monogamous long-term partner, with interests such as ‘self-care,’ ‘cooking’ and ‘working out.’ He notes Justin Bieber’s 2020 song ‘Intentions’ as his personal anthem.

‘I am more than just a convicted felon,’ he told the DailyMail. ‘That person before is not who I am now. I want to continue to grow and shine a light on my story to do something positive with my life – and to hopefully help others.’
