Update in case of mum and dad charged with torturing to death their seven-month-old baby Rhuan with an ‘offensive instrument’

A youth carer who allegedly tortured and assaulted his baby with an offensive instrument in the months before he was allegedly murdered will have to wait a further four weeks before his case can progress in court.

Reinhardt Bosch, 33, and his partner, Noemi Kondacs, 22, have been charged with the murder and torture of seven-month-old Rhuan northwest of Brisbane.

The baby was found dead at a Mount Samson Rd address in Yugar on November 3, 2022.

Court documents show police allege Rhuan was tortured by the pair between April 11 and November 3.

Mr Bosch was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm while armed with an offensive instrument.

Inner West Crime Group Detective Inspector David Jackman told reporters in November that the child appeared to have suffered ‘visible’ injuries.

‘The circumstances leading to the death we will allege have happened in the last 24 hours (of November 3),’ he said.

Mr Bosch’s solicitor Anna Plantos said her legal firm was still waiting ‘on some material’ from the prosecution.

The court was told the Director of Public Prosecutions had disclosed the remainder of the evidence, including the medical report, on Friday.

The DPP prosecutor said the only thing outstanding was one statement from an officer involved in the case, but it was ‘not critical to the investigation’.

Ms Plantos said she would require more time with her client to go through all the material in the DPP case.

Ms Kondac’s lawyer did not appear on Monday but her matter was adjourned to July 31 alongside Mr Bosch’s matters.

The pair remain in custody.
