Chaos at Sea World as thrill-seekers get stuck in mid-air when new ride stalls

Thrill-seekers have been left stuck mid-air while trying out the new Leviathan rollercoaster at Sea World.
Staff gave patrons umbrellas to shield themselves from the glaring sun while they waited to be evacuated after the ride malfunctioned at the Gold Coast theme park on Friday.
‘It was a standard ride stoppage,’ a Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

‘A computer found a potential malfunction on the ride and triggered the stoppage.
‘At which point our staff were able to help the customers down from the ride and other rides were able to restart.’
It is unclear how long the patrons were stuck on the ride which has been temporarily closed.
Originally expected to open in July of 2021, the Leviathan opened in December of last year before being shortly shut down just days after for ‘fine tuning’.
The Leviathan makes up one of three new attractions at Sea World’s new $50million Atlantis precinct.
It’s the first wooden rollercoaster to be constructed in Australia in 35 years, reaching speeds of up to 80km/h over a 90 second ride.
