Taylor Swift congratulated a newly-engaged couple in a touching moment during her live gig in Edinburgh, after kicking off the UK leg of her Eras tour on Friday.
Taking to the stage of the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, the pop icon, 34, said smiling: ‘I love performing this entire show in the sunlight because I’m pretty sure I just saw somebody getting engaged over here.’
The singer waited to hear a confirmation from the crowd, who screamed in a positive response, and Taylor was captured grinning happily from ear to ear and throwing her fists in the air as she was visibly emotional.
The Wildest Dreams hitmaker seemed over the moon to be witnessing the romantic scene, and said: ‘You have no idea. I never get to see that. Cause it’s like… dark usually at night.
‘But it’s not right now, so congratulations, wow.’

Taylor seemed astonished by the emotional gesture which happened right under her nose and continued: ‘I just saw the whole thing! Man, that’s amazing.
‘Thanks for doing that at my concert. That’s a big moment. Huge.’
The music star kicked off the UK leg of her much-anticipated Eras tour in triumphant style on Friday night with the first of three shows in Edinburgh.
Playing a catalogue of hits from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) – Taylor had the crowd in a frenzy.
To the delight of the capacity crowd in the Scottish capital, she also performed some fan-favourite hits.
Arguably the biggest highlight of all came from the two tracks in her secret ‘surprise’ slot – a period during concerts that the vocalist dedicates to two ‘mystery’ tracks that she changes with each performance.
Prior to the concert, Swifties reacted with glee when the singer touched down in Edinburgh on Friday afternoon.
The American megastar arrived at lunchtime and was shrouded by umbrellas before being whisked away in a blacked-out vehicle accompanied by a police escort.
The attempt to stay out of the view is reminiscent of a similar trick Taylor played when she arrived to Los Angeles airport in February before supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl.
One fan told MailOnline Taylor is rumoured to be staying at the popular Balmoral Hotel and has apparently booked out two entire floors after offering an entire wedding party £10,000 to move, they claimed.
While Taylor had no troubles when it comes to having somewhere to stay for the night, her fans had a tougher task to find accommodation in Edinburgh as hotels were quickly booked up despite tripling their rates during the megastar’s three-night residency.
Incredibly, some locals came to the rescue – with one man listing his property on Airbnb for £585 per night.
